How Lauren became the hero by building the right IFS team for go-live

When Lauren joined Harbor Industrial, a contract manufacturing company, as an HR Generalist, the company was in the middle of implementing IFS to replace a legacy ERP system.

Lauren's first challenge emerged during the initial planning stages. The project needed a Business Analyst to bridge the gap between the implementation team and their internal organization.

She followed the common wisdom of today's recruitment process: she created a LinkedIn job posting, scoured endless resume applicants, and even conducted a few first-round interviews. All without success.

She happened upon IFS-Jobs while looking for candidates online.

She created a profile, had an initial meeting, and we put our heads together to find the right candidate.

After a few days, she had a first-round interview with a candidate who worked directly for IFS but was coming off a career break.

The first interview went well and she scheduled a second interview with the project team.

It was a great match!

Laura was able to find, interview, and make an offer to fill the BA role in about 2 weeks.

The BA quickly jumped in and worked directly with the implementation team.

As the project progressed, the team identified a need for a technical resource. This time Laura decided to come directly to IFS-Jobs to find a resource.

With their CRIM list growing she didn't have time to wait for the traditional recruitment methods. She needed a resource quickly that would hit the ground running.

We were able to connect her with Ryan. Ryan had about 2 years of IFS experience.

Ryan, while having less experience than other candidates showed his technical know-how and ability to problem-solve.

Near go-live deadlines reports are often the last item to be configured (along with lobbies).

While the implementation consultants had a large team dedicated to moving the project forward they didn't have an adequate report designer resource.

As you know, invoices, order confirmations, picklists, etc. are key to running any organization.

The lack of report design work was threatening the go-live date.

With IFS-Jobs's self-serve feature, she was able to log-in, make a selection, and engage the candidate directly.

She filled this position in 3 days! A record?

With the report designer on board, the project gained momentum. Reports were developed on schedule, stakeholders received what they needed, and the team gained confidence they could reach the go-live date.

They went live!

Lauren’s story is one of foresight, adaptability, and determination.

As for me? I was proud to play a supporting role in Lauren’s journey, helping her build a team that can not only get them past go-live but support them in the years to come.

But make no mistake—this was Lauren’s victory, and her story is a testament to the power of smart hiring and quick decision-making.
