
About the Role
The Senior Manager of Applications and Data Warehousing is responsible for all aspects of business applications developed, installed or supported by IT.
Actively manage IT Business Analysts to ensure proper execution of projects and enhancements, while maintaining a steady level of Help Desk support.
Architect and oversee development/operations of the application environment including integrations to other business systems as well as the data warehouse environment.
Manage the Applications budget.
What you'll do:
Applications Management (approx 50% of role)
Work with business leaders to understand and set priorities in line with the companies’ priorities for application implementation, improvement, and expansion.
Provide management, priority resolution, and oversight to the IT Business Analysts to ensure on time and on budget execution of projects.
Oversee the work of and mentor the IT Business Analysts to ensure consistent and appropriate solutions, and the continued growth of the team.
Work with the VP, IT to set strategy and architecture for the application ecosystem.
Process Audit and Controls (approx. 20% of role)
Continually Audit compliance with internal IT policies and procedures for the IT Team
Continually improve documentation of IT systems and related business processes.
Continually improve documentation of IT systems and related business processes.
Work with business function leaders to promote process adoption and compliance.
Contribute to DR and business continuity plans.
Maintain and Support (approx. 20% of role)
In cooperation with the Manager of Infrastructure, ensure reliable and ready access to applications and data.
Ensure proper triage, prioritization, and execution of Help Desk Tickets and the proper use of the ticketing system by the Business Analysts.
Act as an escalation point for the IT Business Analysts.
Other Responsibilities (approx. 10% of role)
Effectively leverage outside resources to achieve company objectives, bringing in specialists or on-call consultants to provide solutions where we do not have enough in-house skills, experience or bandwidth.
Perform occasional off-hours support, upgrades and changes to systems as needed.
Execute projects using appropriate project Initiation, Execution, and Reporting tools and practices to ensure on time, and on-budget deliveries of significant work.
Continually improve internal IT documentation and procedures to ensure consistency, information sharing, and cross-training within the IT team.
Contribute to the company as a driver of strategy, manager of people, and a hands-on contributor.
Requirements
What you'll need to be successful:
15 years experience in IT Applications in a corporate environment.
Experience in IT Applications and Business Analysis in Mid-Size or larger companies
Experience leading, mentoring and coaching others to achieve a consistent result
Able to balance multiple priorities and workloads and deliver solid results
Knowledge of information technology computer systems and software and the ability to manage the entire spectrum of IT Applications and Data
Very strong skills in application development/architecture, database design/structure, specifically using SQL Server, and ETL
Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed
Excellent critical thinking and troubleshooting skills Preferred
Experience with the IFS ERP platform as a consultant and/or customer
